Thank you for making the decision to be a volunteer. West Oahu 769 is an organization that runs and functions solely on people like you – volunteers with big hearts and a love for the kids and the game!
Here are your next steps:
(1) Background Check
After you have completed your volunteer application you will received an email from Sterling Volunteers with a link to authorize a background check. This step is required for all volunteers and must be done every year, otherwise you will not be eligible to volunteer. There will be a $25.00 processing fee that is setup to be paid by West Oahu.
(2) Get Trained
Once you have authorized the background check you will need to go through some training. Below is a list of online courses required for ALL VOLUNTEERS (Coach, Referee, Team Parent, etc.). These courses, with the exception of Safesport can be accessed through AYSOU.

*Safesport Training
The 2017 SafeSport Act has expanded Mandated Reporters to include adults authorized to interact with children. Due to this expansion, that includes AYSO and it requires training on child abuse and expanded reporting.
Effective January 1, 20022, U.S. Soccer will no longer allow equivalent training, such as AYSO's Safe Haven, and has mandated SafeSport training. The training must be completed by no later than September 1, 2022 for team activation for the Fall season.
